Comets:
Now and then we have the chance to witness a Comet. Here are some examples from the last couple of years. A few displayed both a nice ion tale and a nice dust tale. However most are quite tiny, especially when viewed from the city.
Comet 21P / Giacobini-Zinner on Sep 16, 2018, at 00:01 UT. The comet passed just beneath the open clusters Messier 35 and NGC 2158.

Comet Ikeya-Zhang 2002 April 17. This comet showed hues of both green and blue.
Neowise 16-17 July
Comet NEOWISE was a fairly difficult object to get a good view of, at my high latitude of about 60 degree north, with no darkness at all during July. However, it was very strong, so the core was an easy target.
Neowise Core July 16-17 North up
The imaging of the core gave this variation in colors. Interesting with the reddish part at the bow front, and more greenish-bluish towards the tail.
NEOWISE July 23-24 images 45-53
NEOWISE at end of July, when the comet was closest to earth. This is 9 images combined, with various amount of noctilucent clouds passing by at the time of the exposures. The ion tail is visible! The night sky was still not dark, just twilight all night!
